Elevating Skydio
Crafting an Enterprise Narrative for a Drone Innovator
Aircover and autonomous drone provider Skydio were strategic communications partners for three-plus years, beginning in 2021. When Aircover came on the scene, Skydio had general awareness in the consumer market but wanted to establish itself as an enterprise and defense company serving both the private and public sectors.
Aircover crafted and launched a multi-phase campaign to reposition the company in the enterprise and defense markets and successfully sunset its consumer business. The team kicked off with an announcement of Skydio’s Series E funding round coupled with enterprise momentum, landing features with Bloomberg (online and TV), CNBC and Yahoo! Finance. This was followed by a consistent cadence of product announcements to highlight enterprise features and expand industry thought leadership. Simultaneously, we created a successful social media program for Skydio’s CEO to put a face to the brand – increasing followers by 100% in the first three months. The team capped off the campaign by securing 40+ stories for the launch of Skydio’s new enterprise drone – the X10.
